Breanna Barrington – The Paint Spot
Currently, in my installation work, I have been playing with the visual language of shopping mall window displays to start conversations about current environmental issues, modern humanity’s relationship with the land, and whatever other Easter Eggs I can find.
Most of my installations have some sort of subtle interactive element – a book that might be flipped through, a cabinet, suitcase, box, or drawer that says, “open me”. I believe that through this kind of involved experience a greater understanding of the work can be achieved, and let’s face it, people like to snoop.
Breanna Barrington is a Grande Prairie raised visual artist, she is currently living in Amiskwaciy “Beaver Hill House” on Treaty 6 Territory.
