ASL Guide to Nextfest 2019

The Backstage Theatre is equipped with hearing loops (T-Coil Loops) for patrons with hearing loss. These loops transmit directly to a hearing aid or cochlear implant electromagnetically, with no extra equipment. To use the system:
- Ask your hearing aid provider to activate your t-coil function.
- When you arrive at the theatre, switch your hearing aid to your t-coil function and adjust the volume as needed.
- Those without hearing aids can also utilize a portable headset receiver. Units are available to rent for free from the box office, and are available on a first come, first serve basis.
DISABLED ADULT TRANSIT SERVICE (DATS)
Festival-goers using DATS may be dropped off at The Roxy on Gateway Theatre (8529 103 Street) or The Backstage Theatre (10330 84 Avenue). The Roxy on Gateway Theatre will be open one hour before the first showtime on each day and close at the start of the last show on each day. The Backstage Theatre will be open one-half hour before the first showtime on each day and close at the start of the last show on each day. Nextfest is located in the heart of Old Strathcona, which means parking is at a premium around our venues. You can find a map of available parking around the ‘hood here: oldstrathcona.ca/Map. But seriously, parking isn’t easy to find.
